Generally, The Hierophant represents institutionalism, tradition, and conformity. More than that, it can be an indication that someone may be leaning on traditions or institutions rather than themselves. In desperation for a level of salvation within an institution one can dissolve aspects of themselves in order to conform.
.
Ultimately what I wanted to illustrate with this card is a desperation for salvation. Hands claw at the walls ripping through to expose a glimpse of vast cosmos but the seeker in their desperation doesnβt realize that they hold the key to their own spiritual awakening.
